Book Review: Verity by Colleen Hoover

Image
Verity Colleen Hoover 5 of 5 stars Genre: Thriller/Romance/Mystery The story of the book is as follows...... Jeremy Crawford husband of Verity Crawford (best-selling author) invites Lowen Ashleigh (an average struggling author) to complete her wife’s remaining work in a series that she couldn’t complete because she was injured. When Lowen reaches Crawford's house she starts to get through years of Verity's work to first understand which tone and style she uses in her books. After finding her autobiography, in which she has written everything about herself and how her life changed, which Verity wrote for herself, she began reading it too. As she continues reading it, the intensity of her terrors and curiosity grows as she goes through the chapters one by one. This was my first Miss Collen book. It gave me chills while reading it and I completed it within two days. This was pretty fast for me. Recommended for everyone interested in Romance, Mystery and Thrill...

Book Review: Animal Farm by George Orwell

Animal Farm by George Orwell My rating: 5 of 5 stars Review: Animal Farm by George Orwell "It is a dystopian fiction novel best suited for those eager to learn about politics." This book is told from the perspective of animals and their views on humans. In this story, you will learn how a revolution gradually forms, how leaders capture the attention of their followers, and how the leaders you select tend to manipulate you. You'll see how followers allow someone to become a dictator in their nation. You'll also understand what dictatorship is and how social classes are formed. You will learn that sometimes a revolution is processed in a way that leads you to select a dictator of your own and democratically appoint them as a leader. What I learned from this book is that people themselves allow someone to manipulate them by agreeing to or doing whatever they are told to do, without raising questions. It is a wonderful book that provides valuable ins...

Book Review: The Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran

Image
The Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran My rating: 5 of 5 stars What a lovely and engaging book this was! I am talking about Khalil Gibran's work, The Broken Wings . This is simply a romantic poetic novel if you read it at first glance. But yes, there is more. If you understand it clearly, it isn’t only a poetic work; rather, it discusses women’s struggles over centuries, the interference of religious leaders in daily life, and how they create an image of innocence while leading others into misery. It also touches on corruption and greed within religious institutions and critiques the rigid class system that perpetuates social inequality. In a very profound way, all of these issues are addressed through the lens of love in this book. It is a very short novel, and the lovely poetic verses make it engaging, while the story itself is amazing. Just take the time to read this!
